Acceptance of Terms

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of TierMap, operated at tiermap.co.za ("the Platform", "we", "us"). By registering, signing in, or using any part of TierMap you confirm that you have read, understood, and agreed to these Terms.

If you do not agree to these Terms, you may not use the Platform.

Who May Use TierMap

TierMap is available to users who are:

• At least 16 years of age, or have the consent of a parent or guardian if under 16.
• Resident in or operating from South Africa, or seeking opportunities within South Africa.
• Registering with accurate, current, and complete information.

By using TierMap you confirm that you meet these eligibility requirements. If you are registering on behalf of a company, you confirm that you have authority to bind that company to these Terms.

Your Account

You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials. You must not share your password or allow others to access your account.

• You must provide a valid email address and keep it up to date.
• You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account.
• You must notify us immediately at support@tiermap.co.za if you suspect unauthorised access to your account.
• We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that we reasonably believe have been compromised or are being misused.

Acceptable Use

You agree to use TierMap only for lawful purposes and in a manner consistent with these Terms. You must not:

• Post false, misleading, or fraudulent information about yourself, your qualifications, or your company.
• Use the Platform to harass, threaten, or harm any other user.
• Attempt to gain unauthorised access to any part of the Platform or its underlying systems.
• Scrape, crawl, or extract data from the Platform without prior written consent from TierMap.
• Upload files containing viruses, malware, or any malicious code.
• Impersonate any person, company, or organisation.
• Use the Platform in any way that violates the Electronic Communications and Transactions Act (ECTA) or any other applicable South African law.

Content You Submit

When you upload a CV, profile information, or any other content to TierMap ("User Content"), you:

• Confirm that you own or have the right to submit the content.
• Grant TierMap a limited, non-exclusive licence to store and display that content for the purpose of operating the Platform and providing services to you.
• Confirm that the content is accurate and does not infringe any third party's rights.

We do not claim ownership of your User Content. You may delete your content or request account deletion at any time. Upon deletion we will remove your User Content within 30 days, except where retention is required by law.

Job Listings & Bursary Information

TierMap aggregates job listings from third-party sources (including Adzuna and CareerJet) and hosts bursary information compiled from publicly available sources.

• We do not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or availability of any job listing or bursary opportunity.
• TierMap is not a recruitment agency and does not place candidates into roles.
• Applying for a job or bursary through a third-party link takes you outside of TierMap. We are not responsible for third-party application processes, outcomes, or communications.
• Bursary deadlines and eligibility criteria may change. Always verify information directly with the bursary provider before applying.

Intellectual Property

All content on TierMap that is not User Content — including the platform design, code, branding, logos, and text — is owned by or licensed to TierMap and protected by copyright and other intellectual property laws.

You may not reproduce, distribute, modify, or create derivative works from any TierMap content without prior written permission.

Disclaimer of Warranties

TierMap is provided "as is" and "as available" without any warranties of any kind, either express or implied.

• We do not warrant that the Platform will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of viruses or other harmful components.
• We do not warrant that job listings, bursary information, or career guidance content is accurate, complete, or current.
• Use of the Platform is at your sole risk.

Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by South African law, TierMap and its operators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of or inability to use the Platform.

This includes, without limitation, any loss of employment opportunity, failure to obtain a bursary, or loss of data. Our total aggregate liability to you shall not exceed R500 (five hundred rand) in any 12-month period.

Nothing in these Terms excludes liability for fraud, gross negligence, or any liability that cannot be excluded under the Consumer Protection Act (CPA) or other applicable South African legislation.

Termination

You may delete your account at any time by contacting support@tiermap.co.za.

We may suspend or terminate your access to TierMap at any time, with or without notice, if we reasonably believe you have violated these Terms, posed a security risk, or if we are required to do so by law. Upon termination, your right to use the Platform ceases immediately.

Governing Law

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Republic of South Africa. Any disputes arising from or related to these Terms shall be subject to the jurisdiction of the South African courts.

We encourage you to contact us to resolve any dispute informally before initiating formal proceedings.

Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we make material changes we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, notify registered users by email.

Continued use of TierMap after updated Terms are published constitutes your acceptance of the changes. If you do not agree to the updated Terms, you must stop using the Platform.
